Born and raised in Moldova, at just 16, Georgeta took a leap of faith by applying for a study exchange programme. A year later, she moved to Olympia, Washington, to complete her senior year of high school — an experience that ignited her passion for studying abroad.
She went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree at the University of Tartu, Estonia, where she also served as an International Student Ambassador. Later, through Erasmus+, she studied for a semester at KU Leuven in Belgium and loved it so much that she returned to Brussels for her MBA, specializing in Sustainability Management. After graduating, she continued supporting students through her university’s Mentoring Programme.
With Skola, Georgeta aims to offer the support she once needed when moving across countries, adapting to new systems, and learning new languages and cultures. Having never imagined studying abroad before her exchange in the US, she now hopes to show others that it is not only possible, but truly life-changing.
Georgeta currently lives in Brussels and, in addition to her role at Skola, is an EU Funding Consultant and a volunteer with Global Shapers Brussels.
“I want to give students the same chance I had — to discover themselves, to see how much they can grow, and to come back with stories, memories, and perspectives that will stay with them forever.
For me, Skola means a chance to help other students study abroad. I was the first in my family to do it, and now both my younger siblings are studying abroad too — I am super proud of that.”
