Tackle your future with Georgeta
Born and raised in Moldova, at just 16, Georgeta took a leap of faith by applying for a study exchange programme. A year later she moved to Olympia, Washington, to complete her senior year of high school — an experience that ignited her passion for studying abroad.
She went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at the University of Tartu, Estonia, where she also served as an International Student Ambassador. Later, through Erasmus+, she studied a semester at KU Leuven in Belgium and loved it so much that she returned to Brussels for her Master’s in Business Administration, specializing in Sustainability Management. After graduating, she continued supporting students through her university’s Mentoring Programme.
With Skola, Georgeta wants to offer the support she once needed when moving across countries, adapting to new systems, and learning new languages and cultures. Having never imagined studying abroad before her exchange in the US, she now hopes to show others that it is not only possible, but truly life-changing.
She currently lives in Brussels, works full-time as an EU Funding Consultant, and volunteers at Global Shapers Brussels.

If you could give one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could go back and tell my younger self one thing, it would be this: everything will be fine. You do not need to have all the answers right away: your steps, your choices, and your intuition will guide you to where you belong. Keep your fire alive to aim higher and dream bigger; at the same time, give yourself time. Pause to enjoy the little moments, because they matter just as much as the big wins. And when things slip out of your control, let them go. Trust yourself, trust the process, and you will see it all works out in the end.
What was your most memorable concert experience?
My most memorable concert experience was also the best Christmas gift I have ever received. My partner surprised me with tickets to see Ed Sheeran in Brussels. I have been listening to him since the very beginning of his career, so it felt incredibly special. His live performance was phenomenal!
What made it even better was sharing it with my partner. He originally came along just as a plus one to support me, but by the end, he loved the concert just as much as I did!
What is your favorite movie?
There is one movie I have watched at least four times, and I know I could watch it four more times and still love it just as much: The Bucket List with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. It is extra special to me because it’s not only my favourite movie, but also my father’s.
The film reminds me of what truly matters when we reach the end of our lives. One of my favourite quotes from the movie captures this beautifully:
"You know, the ancient Egyptians had a beautiful belief about death. When their souls got to the entrance to heaven, the guards asked two questions. Their answers determined whether they were able to enter or not: ‘Have you found joy in your life?’ ‘Has your life brought joy to others?’"
To which country would you go over and over again?
One word: Italy. Italy is never a bad idea :) Amazing food, stunning views, and beautiful weather — you can hardly go wrong. Whether it is a long holiday or just a quick city break, Italy always delivers.
What does Skola mean to you?
For me, Skola means a chance to help other students study abroad. I was the first in my family to do it, and now both my younger siblings are studying abroad too — I am super proud of that.
Studying abroad in the US, Estonia, and Belgium made me who I am today, and I will always be thankful for that. Each country gave me something different: new cultures, new friends, new ways of thinking, and challenges that pushed me to grow. Together, these experiences shaped me into someone more open, resilient, and curious about the world.
If I could be a trailblazer for my family, then I know I can help others take that first step too. I want to give students the same chance I had — to discover themselves, to see how much they can grow, and to come back with stories, memories, and perspectives that will stay with them forever.
