After working long hours, multiple jobs, and applying to dozens of scholarships to afford her undergraduate degree in the US, Carson knew that if she wanted to continue her higher education journey, then it would need to be done in a more affordable location. Currently, she is in New Zealand on a Working Holiday Visa with plans to attend a master’s program in Europe later this year.
Since her undergraduate degree, Carson has dedicated her career to combining her passions for the outdoors and education. She has worked in an array of educational settings. From environmental education to health education and academic advising in Washington and Georgia, USA, as well as led students on a sea turtle conservation trip to Costa Rica in 2023.
Though her roles in education have shifted over time, her priorities haven’t when it comes to students. She is a fierce advocate for her students' access to education and a loyal coach when it comes to navigating higher education, goal-setting, and preparing for the future. Carson is excited to join Skola’s team to further guide students in making the leap to live and study internationally.
“I've never regretted moving, and I've never regretted experiencing another culture. It can be challenging at times to navigate the different systems, but finding community, learning, and experiencing another place always makes it worthwhile.
I hope to help others navigate their new paths abroad and receive the education everyone deserves.”
