Finnish Student Visas

In order to move to Finland as a student you must apply for a “Residence Permit for the Purpose of Studies.”

Financial Requirements

To qualify for a residence permit, you must prove that you have sufficient funds to afford the cost of your degree and the cost of living in Finland. These funds can be comprised of your personal savings as well as grants, scholarships, and/or loans.

Tuition

If you have not yet paid tuition you must prove you have sufficient funds for this in addition to your living expenses

Health Insurance

You must already have a health insurance policy to cover your 1st year in Finland.

Sponsorship

Sponsorship agreements are not allowed. If your parents or a family member will support you during your studies they must deposit the full amount into your personal bank account.

English Documents

As long as all your documents are in English you wont have to translate any documents.
